Heatless Air Dryer
A Heatless Air Dryer is a highly efficient system used to remove moisture from compressed air using a desiccant adsorption process. It ensures a continuous supply of dry, moisture-free air, which is essential for sensitive industrial applications such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, electronics, and instrumentation. This dryer operates without external heating, making it energy-efficient and reliable.
Working Principle:
- Compressed air enters the heatless air dryer through the inlet valve.
- The air passes through a desiccant-filled tower (such as activated alumina or molecular sieves), where moisture is adsorbed.
- The desiccant has a strong affinity for water vapor, effectively removing moisture from the compressed air.
- Dry air is delivered at the outlet, suitable for critical applications requiring low dew point.
- Simultaneously, a small portion of dry air (purge air) is expanded and used to regenerate the saturated desiccant in the second tower.
- The system operates on a twin-tower design, alternating between drying and regeneration cycles to ensure continuous operation.
